Fate

I have a fate with something.
This "something" is nothing related to love for a person, contrary to how the word "fate" is usually used.
This "something" is related to my love for exposed hot objects, which I somehow find irresistable to touch.
This "fate" that I have... is a fate with blisters.
A new blister popped out, this time on my right index finger, because I touched the exposed hot plate meant for the heating up of chemical solutions during my chemistry practical this week. Strangely enough, it looked so harmless and meek before I touched it, to the point of me thinking that it was at first a
weighing scale.
Only after touching the
weighing scale did I bother to study the switches and the knobs of the device, and only after repeatedly trying to cool down my finger with water did I realise that:
1) This device is actually a hot plate
2) It was turned on and sizzling at the temperature of 200 degrees Celsius
Oh well it's still a lesson learnt at the end of the day:
Don't touch anything before having a good look at it and assuring that it's safe to touch.
