Finally some relaxation.

Its funny when I entered the classroom of 4A this morning at 7.20 am with my usual vigour and energy and I saw everyone with their faces buried in some mugging material or busy copying things down. "What are they doing?" I thought.

I never knew I would be doing the same soon.

Over the weekends, we were supposed to complete Maths assignment, and mug for SS and CLE assignments/quizzes (SINCE WHEN WAS CLE MUGGABLE? I'll talk about this later...), which after 20 seconds upon entering the classroom I realize I had not done. Not a single piece. And so begins the mad rush to complete my work.

And so as we were on our way to SS written assignment later, Jon Gan was commenting on how almost every period today has an assessment. SS, CLE, English has presentation which our group has completed, Chinese which has oral presentation.
By the way, Cai said she could not make it so we had a free period. I screamed my throat hoarse rejoicing. I swear I'll never scream that crazily again. I was practically drowning myself in water at the water cooler just so to provide relief for my hoarse throat.

But nevertheless, the day went by and we find the rest of the week practically assessment-free except for Physics (what a wet blanket!). I still remember Huang Yuting telling me that day, "Ivan ah, must study hard ah. Your physics doing very badly you know." I was basically laughing like mad after that. Ask Shawn if you don't believe.

But I digress. The week is left free and empty. Why am I not jumping in joy and jubilation? Because of the possibility of the RETURNING of papers. Ah, that strikes a fear in everyone's... oh wait... only my heart -.-
So basically I pray for my survival, and for everyone else's, even though I know I do not need to give them any more help. They pwn me anyway. I PHAIL. *slash wrist* XD

Ah yes CLE. Character and Leadership Education. Now let's dissect those words shall we? Character - The combination of qualities or features that distinguishes one person, group, or thing from another. Leadership - Capacity or ability to lead. Do those in any way seem muggable? If CLE was in any way muggable, that would be the day that I actually do my Maths Assignment the day that I get it (which is never by the way). CLE is not a subject meant to be mugged, but rather a subject meant to be practised. We can learn all the theory we want about what having a good character entails, or having good leadership can do for you, but if its not being practised, what is the point? What is the point in giving fake remarks like having getting an "Excellent" score for Interpersonal skills if you are actually nothing but an outcast among the class, unaccepted by even the closest of your peers, not even the person sleeping next to you? (Oh well... he doesn't really care about anything. He just sleeps...) What does it matter? Won't it be ironic when you see the top misbehavers in school getting top marks for CLE, which is not turned into something muggable? I plead to the school, CLE cannot become a muggable subject. It's meant to be practised not mugged. Also, having such obvious bias in the grading system, which is from a subjective point of view of the teachers, does not really help in the student development as much as you would like to think, RI.

Wake up, RI. Stop dreaming that you are actually developing the future leaders of the country. Top 3% of the cohort even if you are last in the school? I shall reiterate what I said to Gene and Jon Gan today: Bullshit.
