Dilemma
Tuesday, May 8, 2007
There were several highlights today:
1) NAPFA
2) Maths CCT
3) JC Courses Talk
NAPFA:
Situps - A (68)
Standing Broad Jump - B (232 cm)
Sit & Reach - B (45 cm)
Chinups - A (15)
Shuttle Run - B (10.3s)
Satisfied with everything except for the Sit & Reach. Really pissed at myself for making a mistake while doing the stretch because I forgot to exhale, and I missed A by 1 cm. But still overall satisfied with the results because I did not get a C.
Maths CCT:
I do not want to talk about it. I will just say two words: single digit. Period.
JC Courses Talk:
Undoubtedly the highlight of the day. This is also where the dilemma sets in. After hearing all the different possible choices I wanted to start planning one course to take, but I just cannot decide whether to go for the Science or Humanities route. I personally feel that I am more of a Humanities guy, but yet everyone says that Science is crucial - teachers, parents, classmates etc. I seriously do not know what to pick. And they say that Maths is crucial in alot of subjects, including the 3 Sciences. I feel that the only Science requiring Maths is Physics, and it is actually okay to drop Maths if you are taking Chemistry and Biology (correct me if I am wrong). So right now, my only confirmed subject that I really want to take is Economics because according to seniors, classmates, teachers and tons of people, it is a really useful subject for the future. While I also heard that its SUPER TOUGH, I think its better to get a subject more useful for the future instead of going for the score only, which is what some of my classmates feel is more important. I don't know, and I think I will not be sure until the end of the year when its crunch time.
I have done my best.
